The utility doors have been upgraded to comply with the fire regulations. This included fixing an intumescent strip between the double doors plus a larger fire stop on the door frame.
Intumescent strips when exposed to extreme heat, expand and close any edges or gaps that may leave the fire door vulnerable to fire and smoke spread, which helps to contain the fire in one area, preventing spreading.
