Work on filling in the main tunnel at the rear car park has commenced and should be completed before the end of March 2025. The contractors have removed the best part of 20 tonnes of rocks and soil which had fallen from the tunnel roof, having been loosened up by tree roots. The next stage is to block up the tunnel mouth and then fill the tunnel up in stages, with concrete.
The main phase of the cliff works is expected to start in September 2025, when work will start on netting the cliff face, once the holiday season is over.
