At long last, the top rear balcony works has been completed, at a cost of just under £30k. For many years, the top balcony had been leaking to the balcony ceiling below, which had to be battoned up to ensure that it remained safe. The works included replacing the top coping stones with a wider overhang, re-waterproofing under the coping stones, re-waterproofing the drainage areas with a rubber based coating, replacing the ceiling panels below with a higher quality, water resistant material, including replacing various ceiling fixtures and fittings. This work was similar to the works carried out in April 2021, on the smaller top balcony. All works were carried out by local contractor, TJ Smith & Son and represents the largest works ever carried out, since the building was constructed in 2006!
